At last! New Baby shambles album is here! I luv it!

I lurrrve 'Pipedown' and '8 dead boys' - great songs.

Whats everyones opinions?!?!?!?!

The song begins with a great guitar intro, the lead guitar ringing in your ears, and a loud bass line which i love.

The bass really gets the song going, and while Peanut (yes thats his name) is singing, really different background singing is happening a series of 'aahs'. The lyrics are very repetitive in the Chorus, however the lyrics in the verse are really clever.

To much time spent dragging the past up
If I didn't see you not looking what I messed up
Settling down in your early twenties
Sucked more blood than a backstreet dentist      <------------    Lovin that line!

Another great verse...

Red shirts looking for greater glory
The only thing growing is on this story
Knock me down I'll get right back up again
Come back strong like the poweredup pacman       <-------- They have this tendancy to make the last line of each verse bloody brilliant!

An ok guitar instrumental, quite repetitive though. Repeating the same little tune over and over, once is enough really.

The ending is also quite abrupt for the song. The Kaiser Chiefs seem to usually string out their songs which is fine, but the ending is to abrupt considering the rest of the song. something more similar to the verse would have maybe been more suitable.

Overall I would give this song a 6/10. The verses and intro are great but too many 'Oh My Gods'!!!

Best of you

By the Foo Fighters.

Best of you is very different to what we are used to hearing from the Foo Fighters. Mainly shouted by Dave, but it really suits the song, and when he is occasionally singing, its really effective. The sort of song that makes you want to go out walking in the rain and get completely drenched! The first 30 seconds or so are quiet with very little drumming, then changes to a fuller melody. The lyrics are brilliant:

Are you gone and onto someone new?
I needed somewhere to hang my head
Without your noose
You gave me something that I didn’t have
But had no use
I was too weak to give in
Too strong to lose
My heart is under arrest again
But I break loose
My head is giving me life or death
But I can’t choose
I swear I’ll never give in
I refuse

- Really good lyrics in the verses, and a very simple Chorus ' Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you.'

Overall i think its a really great song, not the usual from the foo fighters, but i think it works very well.

I would give it an 8/10, brilliant but maybe to much shouting from Dave.
